Beautiful & Healthy Hair Forever

Beautiful & healthy hair

Women define and shape their identity primarily through their hairstyle. The hair as the crowning glory of a woman is considered as a significant symbol or extension of their personality and style. So many women take extra lengths to maintain the health and good appearance of their locks.

Healthy hair is a mirror to good health. As we are ageing our hair becomes more fine, thin, dry, brittle, dull, grey, loses volume, changes the texture as well as we might suffer from hair loss too.

Few hair care tips to ease hair loss and achieve manageable, beautiful & healthy hair:
  • Balanced Diet – Eating a balanced diet containing protein, fruits, vegetables, grains, and even an appropriate amount of fat is important (several vitamins and minerals require fat in order to be delivered or absorbed by the body) to stimulate the growth of healthy hair.
  • Drinking plenty of water – cleanses the toxins and enabling healthy hair growth.
  • Natural Hair Care – A warm oil scalp massage two or three times a week will help stimulate and moisturize the scalp.
  • Brushing your hair regularly – to stimulate the scalp will keep it looking healthy and lustrous.
    • Brush your hair gently.
    • Never brush wet hair with a brush, use a wide-toothed comb.
  • Air dry – blow drying your hair robs off the excess moisture.
  • Avoid all types of chemical treatments.
  • Avoid long exposure to the sun.
  • Avoid chlorine and saltwater – it can dry out the hair.

The hair

At any stage of our life, only 10% of hair is in the resting phase, and they fall off in 2-3 months. The new hair grows in a total time of 2-6 years. About 90% of the hair grows on our scalp at a time. Moreover, it grows around 1 cm per month.
Usually, hair lasts for two to four years in men and four to six years in women.
Haircare like shampooing, conditioning, cutting does not affect the rate of growth of the hair.

There are 3 phases of hair growth:

  1. Anagen (the start of hair growth) – it`s about 1000 days or 3 years.
  2. Catagen (hair growth is stopped for a short time, and no pigment is produced at this time) – lasting for 10 days.
  3. Telogen (is the end phase – the shedding phase of hair) – for nearly 3 months.

It is very natural for a person to lose 50 to 100 hairs each day under the body’s hair renewal process. But most people at least once in their life-time suffer from heavy hair loss. There may be various reasons behind this, like medication, certain chemicals, nutritional and hormonal factors, thyroid disease, skin disease, stress, etc.

Here are some natural hair loss treatments:

Aloe Vera
Indians, Native Americans, and Caribbeans have used Aloe Vera to promote healthy hair and prevent hair loss for ages. Aloe Vera balances the pH of the scalp and heals from within. It is also helpful in cleansing the pores. A general remedy of Aloe Vera gel, coconut milk, and a small amount of wheat germ oil used as the shampoo has shown great benefits.

Jojoba
If you are affected by hair problems like eczema, psoriasis, and dandruff, you should try to use jojoba oil. Native Americans and Mexicans have used jojoba oil for centuries to prevent hair loss and to control dandruff. Jojoba oil works well for hypoallergenic skin, as it is a good moisturizer.

Henna
Henna is a traditional Indian herb that is a good natural conditioner and works great as a hair loss treatment product. It heals the hair shaft by sealing the cuticle and repairing, stops breakage, and restores the silky-shiny effect of your hair.

Vitamins and natural ingredients (e.g. “Divine Locks”) can be beneficial to restoring your natural, beautiful hair.

One easy DIY hair mask for damaged hair: Mix one mashed ripe banana and one tablespoon of olive oil, apply on hair, and leave on for 10 – 15 minutes before rinsing.
